Re: 2nd AMENDMENT/HEALTHCARE

Gentlemen:

First, any health care reform bill must be absolutely, affirmatively firearm neutral. The law must explicitly state that no insurer, public or private, may use ownership or use of guns as a basis for underwriting or benefit decisions.

Second, any health care reform bill needs to explicitly deny insurance benefit payments for care provided to anyone who is harmed during the commission of a violent felony, and allow hospitals/doctors to choose to refuse treatment to these same people if they feel they can ethically do so. They may ethically feel they have to treat these people, but you and I should not be subsidizing medical care to Johnny Crackhead when he finds himself shot during a robbery, nor should we be subsidizing someone's ethics. It is time these criminals start bearing the consequence of their actions and allow natural selection to work its magic.

I oppose the very idea of government taking over the healthcare industry and am writing to urge you to vote against any healthcare bill with an unconstitutional individual mandate or a so-called “public option.”

Although cost is a huge concern, Americans are most concerned about government expansion and increased control over the lives of American citizens. Americans don’t want a public option! Americans don’t want an unconstitutional INDIVIDUAL MANDATE!

Any form of socialized healthcare will devastate our nation, and I urge you to stand for the rights of middle-class Americans who have made it clear they DO NOT WANT GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE.

The “hammer” which is now the new public option compromise being worked out -- again behind closed doors -- puts the government-run public option plan under the direction of a “non-governmental board.”  The “hammer public option” would be imposed immediately in every state that does not meet the ObamaCare guidelines.

In addition, Reid and the Democrats have gotten so desperate to pass ObamaCare prior to Christmas that we now have positive confirmation that the “nuclear option” is still a looming threat. (The “nuclear option” would only require 50 votes to pass ObamaCare instead of the 60 votes now needed to end debate on the Senate floor.)

Sen. Ben Nelson acknowledged that in an op-ed. He feared failure to cast a vote to proceed would move Reid to use the “budget reconciliation” nuclear option.  With the “hammer” coming and the very real threat of the nuclear option on the table, a vote on ObamaCare in the Senate before Christmas is almost guaranteed.

Passage of ObamaCare will devastate our nation, and must be stopped.

Whatever posturing and political advantages in future elections are afforded, by allowing objectionable public healthcare to pass, do not provide equity or improvements to the current healthcare system. The people who stand to suffer egregious disadvantages will be forced, through increased taxation and penalty of incarceration, to pay for it in every category.  This is unacceptable, and should be stopped at all cost.  I urge you to block the nuclear option scheme to pass socialized healthcare with public option, and stand with your fellow Americans to defeat this egregious abuse of protected rights of We the People.

Please know that I am watching your actions on this bill.

Note: As elected officials, we expect you to uphold your solemn duty to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, as so elected and sworn.  We will not allow lawmakers and this Administration to reshape these beloved United States into a European socialist state.

We will neither forgive, nor forget. I urge you and your colleagues to listen carefully to the voice of middle-class Americans who are demanding you REJECT this mad dash toward socialism.  We are willing to operate on the basis of faith over experience for a while, but we are not fools. We wish for a peaceful return to organic constitutional principles.

As sovereign citizens of this Constitutional Republic, and by the powers delegated to you, our elected officials, immediate action is hereby requested to ensure the rights and wishes of your constituency are respected.

Respectfully,
